NURSING HISTORY CARDS: history in the making.
Nursing history in Queensland continues to be filled with fascination and intrigue. Dr Lori Harloe, one of Queensland’s first nurse historians, is remembered fondly each year at the Queensland Chapter’s annual nursing history breakfast. One of the initiatives that Lori spearheaded during her time in Queensland was the National Nursing Archival Project – Queensland Chapter (a special project of the Royal College of Nursing, Australia). A small group of visionary individuals had lovely nursing history photo cards developed as a tribute to nurses and nursing and as a way to keep the strength, character and stories of our forebears alive through the funding of nursing history research, museums and archives.
These cards are now available for purchase through the Queensland Chapter of the RCNA. They appear with a photograph on the front and are blank on the inside for your personal messages. To order packets of 10 cards and envelopes send your cheque or money order for $20 + $3 postage and handling to:
Queensland Chapter History Group
PO Box 1233
Indooroopilly, Queensland 4068
