Is this the right membership for you?
Becoming a Student Member of RCNA demonstrates your commitment to professional excellence in nursing early in your career.
You can apply for a student membership if you are undertaking studies in an approved under-graduate pre-registration nursing programme. (An ‘approved programme' is one which will lead to your registration or enrolment as a nurse and which is approved by the relevant State/Territory Nurse Registration Authority)
RCNA may require evidence of current enrolment at a university or TAFE before confirming your student membership; it is also a condition of your student membership that you let RCNA know when you have completed your studies.
Your membership package
RCNA Members receive a wide range of professional and financial benefits. To find out the details of your membership package, click here.
The following services are particularly interesting for students and new graduates:
- RCNA’s Life Long Learning Program (3LP)
- Nursing and Health Expos run by RCNA each year
- special student rates at all RCNA functions
- the New Graduate Kit, available when upgrading to full membership
Your responsibilities and fields of action and influence
Your involvement in RCNA’s activities and networks can influence nursing policy at a national level. We encourage you to make the most of your membership and to become an active student member.
As an RCNA Student member, you are eligible to:
- represent RCNA as a student member when appropriate
- vote on matters referred to student members (as a student, you do not have, however, general voting rights).
